Championship Semifinals
1. SMILF vs 6. Captain Morgan
This semifinal matchup pits two competitors from the Three Packs & A Pat division in a tough showdown. While SMILF has got the best of Captain Morgan twice already this season, including a Week 1 45.04 point victory and a 51.5 point Week 14 blowout, Captain Morgan is no slouch, as they only have four losses on the season. Still, with an average defeat margin of 48.27 points, SMILF seems to have Captain Morgan's number this season. SMILF is in their first year in the league and has been a standout of the season, quickly locking up the top seed in their division and in the league itself. SMILF will once again look to grab a victory and move on to the championship finals. Which team will take home the victory? Captain Morgan boasts one of the top running backs in Jonathan Taylor, but SMILF has standout wide receiver Cooper Kupp on their squad. But with COVID related issues for both Tyreek Hill (Captain Morgan) and Travis Kelce (SMILF), it's anybody's game in this Week 16 semifinal matchup.
2. Houston Dinkel vs 4. 100% That Commish
These two teams only faced off once in the regular season, but they both come in with some momentum and hope for a spot in the championship finals. Houston Dinkel lost the Week 9 matchup by .64 points in a tough matchup that saw 100% That Commish come out victorious. It was a close matchup and a tough pill for Houston Dinkel to swallow. They took the loss out on their opponents, going on to a 4-1 record across the last five weeks of the regular season. Houston Dinkel fields a team that looks very similar to the same squad they've been rolling with all season and hopes to once again come out with a victory. Meanwhile, 100% That Commish has continued to cobble together different lineups throughout the season in hopes of finding a decent running back duo. This one is a big matchup, but no matter what, a Dinkel will once again make the championship game.
3. DINKEL 3.16 vs 5. Leknid Lunatics
Both of these teams came in the to quarterfinals hoping to make some magic happen. DINKEL 3.16 was on a Cinderella type run as they ran through the back half of their division schedule to snag a division title. But the quarterfinals weren't kind to DINKEL 3.16, just as they were unkind to so many other fantasy football teams. They now face off against Leknid Lunatics, who has already defeated them by 3.9 points in Week 6. Leknid Lunatics had a rough go of it in the quarterfinals and will now hope to end their season on a high note with a fifth place finish. It's a battle for the bottom two spots in the championship side of the bracket in this Week 16 matchup.
Consolation Semifinals
7. Keeping Up with the Jones' vs 11. Autodraft Bitches
It's a Week 11 rematch in this semifinal showdown. In their first and only matchup of the regular season, Autodraft Bitches pulled off the upset with a 22.28 point victory, one of their four regular season wins on the season. Autodraft Bitches will now hope that lightning can strike and they can make a bid for the consolation bracket finals. Standing in their way is Keeping Up with the Jones' , a team that showed some promise in the regular season and finished with a 6-8 record. Keeping Up with the Jones' just barely missed the playoffs and will now fight to finish in the top spot of the consolation side of the league. It's a Week 16 showdown with few implications, but quite a few bragging rights.
8. Doc Browns Toilet Bowl vs 9. Ginger Lightning
In classic fashion, it's 8 vs 9 in this semifinal matchup. Doc Browns Toilet Bowl looked to be cruising to a playoff spot and division title until Week 14 when they suffered a defeat that sent them down to the consolation bracket. They will now look to grab a victory where they can in the bottom half of the league. Doc Browns Toilet Bowl faces off against reigning league champion Ginger Lightning. Ginger Lightning won the first matchup in Week 11 with a 9.66 point victory. They will hope that history repeats itself and they can find a home in the consolation bracket finals.
10. The Dictatorship vs 12. Team Pup-N-Suds
This 11th place game is a rematch from Week 6, when these two former division rivals faced off for the first time this season. In that matchup, The Dicatatorship won handily, with a 133.68 point victory over Team Pup-N-Suds. Both teams have struggled throughout the regular season and both are coming off quarterfinal losses. Going in to their final game of the season, Team Pup-N-Suds looks to have the edge, but The Dictatorship has proven to have their number. It's anybody's game in this holiday battle.
