Week 16 Recap - Semifinals

100% That Commish

Semifinals week saw the season end for four teams in the fifth place and eleventh place games. It also saw the elevation of two teams to the championship game, while six others now battle it out for placing to end the season.


STL House Centipedes failed to rise to the occasion, falling short of their projected point total, as Team Pup-N-Suds staged a comeback to earn a 10.14 point win. Despite trailing 124.92-120.76 heading into Sunday night, Team Pup-N-Suds made a comeback behind Chris Godwin (14.3 points). Travis Kelce (23.3 points) and Alvin Kamara (19 points) carried the flag for STL House Centipedes in defeat. This marks the second time this season Team Pup-N-Suds have gotten the best of STL House Centipedes, after winning 193.56-161.06 in their last matchup. Team Pup-N-Suds will now move forward to face Dinkel 3.16 in the championship game, while STL House Centipedes will square off with Fueled By Ayahuasca for third place.


Both teams failed to rise to the occasion, falling short of their projected point totals, but Dinkel 3.16 did enough to beat Fueled By Ayahuasca, coming out on top with a 45.7 point win. Dinkel 3.16 never trailed in this one after grabbing a 14.2-point lead on Thursday behind Travis Etienne Jr.. Kenneth Walker III (17.5 points) and Tony Pollard (14) led the way for Fueled By Ayahuasca in the loss. This marks the first time this season Dinkel 3.16 have taken down Fueled By Ayahuasca, after falling 147.26-137.1 in their last matchup. Dinkel 3.16 will look to keep the momentum rolling in the championship game against Team Pup-N-Suds, while Fueled By Ayahuasca is relegated to the third place game against STL House Centipedes.


The Dictatorship grabbed easy victory over SMILF, rolling to a 49.56 point win in the fifth place game. The Dictatorship never trailed in this one after taking a 15.90-point lead on Thursday behind Evan Engram (23.3 points). Jared Goff (38.7 points) and Gardner Minshew II (34.7 points) carried the flag for SMILF in the loss. This marks the first time this season The Dictatorship have gotten the best of SMILF, after falling 133.14-102.3 in their last matchup. The Dictatorship finish the season in fifth place, while SMILF will claim sixth place.


Houston Dinkel beat their projected point total, cruising to a 56.34 point win over All 2 Whales, who fell short of projections. All 2 Whales took a 5.60-point lead on Thursday, but Houston Dinkel held the lead the rest of the way. They were led by Dak Prescott (34.98 points) and Tee Higgins (31.8). A.J. Brown (22.3 points) and Tom Brady (16.34) carried the flag for All 2 Whales in the loss. This marks the first time this season Houston Dinkel have beaten All 2 Whales, after falling 159.64-104.04 in their last matchup. Houston Dinkel will now battle Ginger Lightning in the seventh place game, while All 2 Whales face off against Car Ramrod for a chance to finish ninth.


Ginger Lightning rose to the occasion, cruising to a 71.1 point win over Car Ramrod, who fell short of projections. Car Ramrod took a 12.5-point lead on Saturday behind Daniel Jones (28.76 points) and George Pickens (16.7), but Ginger Lightning held the lead the rest of the way. They were led by Jaylen Waddle (34.3 points) and Kirk Cousins (30.16). Daniel Jones (28.76 points) and George Pickens (16.7) were the leading performers for Car Ramrod in the loss. This marks the first time this season Ginger Lightning have gotten the best of Car Ramrod, after falling 162.5-100.12 in their last matchup. Ginger Lightning squares off with Houston Dinkel for seventh place, while Car Ramrod will take on All 2 Whales for a shot to finish ninth.


Leknid Lunatics rolled to a 113.34 point win to hand Fowler's Heathens their final loss of the season. Fowler's Heathens grabbed a 17.78-point lead on Thursday behind outstanding showings from Michael Carter (10 points), and Garrett Wilson (5 points). But Leknid Lunatics held the lead the rest of the way, powered by George Kittle (35 points) and Derrick Henry (27.6). This marks the first time this season Leknid Lunatics have knocked off Fowler's Heathens, after falling 111.08-87.58 in their last matchup. Leknid Lunatics finish the season in eleventh place, while Fowler's Heathens settle in at twelfth.

Dud - WR Marquise Brown with 0 points for Team Pup-N-Suds and TE Gerald Everett with 0 points for Fueled By Ayahuasca

 

In the championship bracket, the 1 seed Team Pup-N-Suds will battle the 3 seed Dinkel 3.16 for the title, guaranteeing a new league champ will be crowned this year and the Hall of Records will gain a new member.


In the consolation bracket, the 7 seed Houston Dinkel battles the 9 seed Ginger Lightning for some late season bragging rights.
