Week 2 Recap

100% That Commish

Week 2 saw quite a few tight matchups, with three games coming down to single digit victories. With some come from behind victories, some early wins, and some heartbreaking defeats, Week 2 saw a big shakeup in the weekly standings already, with 13 of 14 teams changing pole position.

Ginger Lightning beat their projected point total, cruising to a 53.32 point win over STL House Centipedes, who fell short of projections. Ginger Lightning grabbed a 4.30-point lead on Thursday behind Austin Ekeler (18.4 points) and never let it go. Amari Cooper (30.1 points) and Trevor Lawrence (22.5) carried the flag for STL House Centipedes in defeat. Ginger Lightning (2-0) will look to notch another W against Houston Dinkel, while STL House Centipedes (1-1) match up against Autodraft Bitches in an effort to get back in the win column.

Car Ramrod were unable to bring their A game, as Fueled By Ayahuasca cruised to a 42.06 point win. Fueled By Ayahuasca jumped out to a 72.86-point lead on Thursday behind stellar efforts from Mike Williams (30.3 points) and Justin Herbert (29.46). Car Ramrod came back to take the lead during the late games on Sunday, powered by the San Francisco 49ers defense (15 points) and Tyler Higbee (14.1). Unphased, Fueled By Ayahuasca pulled it together later that night, as Aaron Jones (37 points) put them back ahead for good. Fueled By Ayahuasca (1-1) will look to build on their success against Leknid Lunatics, while Car Ramrod (1-1) take on The Dictatorship in an effort to right the ship.

Ranking 12th in the league in points scored for the week, Fowler's Heathens were fortunate to earn a win against an opponent that had an even worse week, emerging victorious with a 23.5 point win over Leknid Lunatics. Leknid Lunatics took a 15.88-point lead early Sunday afternoon, but Fowler's Heathens held the lead the rest of the way. They were led by Matthew Stafford (26.88 points), and Deebo Samuel (15.7 points). Mac Jones (19.68 points) and Baker Mayfield (15.3 points) led the charge for Leknid Lunatics in the loss. Fowler's Heathens (1-1) will look to maintain their momentum against Team Pup-N-Suds, while Leknid Lunatics (0-2) will attempt to right the ship against Fueled By Ayahuasca.

Both teams rose to the occasion, but it was Dinkel 3.16 who got the victory, cruising to a 20.58 point win over Captain Morgan. Dinkel 3.16 grabbed a 14.7-point lead early Sunday afternoon. Captain Morgan came back to take the lead late afternoon Sunday, powered by Kyler Murray (28.88 points) and CeeDee Lamb (15.1). Unphased, Dinkel 3.16 made a run when it mattered most on Monday night, as Josh Allen (46.68 points) and Dawson Knox (8.1) put them back ahead for good. Dinkel 3.16 (2-0) will look to build on their success against All 2 Whales, while Captain Morgan (0-2) will take on SMILF in an effort to generate some positive momentum.

Both teams beat expectations, but SMILF took down All 2 Whales, earning a 9.58 point win. All 2 Whales took a 16.80-point lead on Thursday, but SMILF held the lead the rest of the way. They were led by Jalen Hurts (45.02 points) and Jared Goff (35.04). Stefon Diggs (53.8 points) and Christian Kirk (25.8 points) were the leading performers for All 2 Whales in the loss. SMILF (1-1) will look to keep it rolling against Captain Morgan, while All 2 Whales (1-1) will try to get some positive momentum against Dinkel 3.16.

The Dictatorship scored a come-from-behind victory over Team Pup-N-Suds, staging a comeback to earn a 8.96 point win. Trailing 135.26-98.42 heading into Monday night, The Dictatorship charged back behind the Buffalo Bills defense (20 points) and DeVonta Smith (15). Rashod Bateman (29.8 points) and Patrick Mahomes (25.3) led the charge for Team Pup-N-Suds in the loss. The Dictatorship (2-0) will look to build on their success against Car Ramrod, while Team Pup-N-Suds (1-1) face Fowler's Heathens in an effort to get back on track.

Houston Dinkel rose to the occasion and beat expectations, securing a 7.6 point win over Autodraft Bitches. Autodraft Bitches earned a 15.8-point lead early Sunday afternoon, but Houston Dinkel held the lead the rest of the way. They were led by Cooper Kupp (36.8 points), and Nick Chubb (32.3 points). Lamar Jackson (66.62 points) and Drake London (24.6 points) were the leading scorers for Autodraft Bitches in the loss. Houston Dinkel (1-1) will look to keep it rolling against Ginger Lightning, while Autodraft Bitches (0-2) will try to get their first victory against STL House Centipedes.

On Blast!

Okay, so Ginger Lightning didn't actually do anything wrong per se. But when you leave the highest scoring player of the week on your bench, you probably need some sort of special mention in this section. Especially when Kirk Cousins scored 13.84 points to Tua's 66.86 points.

Studs & Duds

Stud* - QB Lamar Jackson with 66.62 points for Autodraft Bitches

(would have been Tua, but you know...)

Dud - QB Ryan Tannehill with -3.12 points for Captain Morgan

Weekly Challenge - Ginger Lightning

This week's Weekly Challenge was Big Summer Blowout and was given to the team with the largest margin of victory. Congrats to Ginger Lightning, who had a 53.32 point victory in Week 2. Next week is Benchwarmers and goes to lowest bench score. If this had been the challenge in Week 2, STL House Centipedes would have won, with only 9.5 points left on the bench.

Waiver Wire Adds

Some people will once again be looking to bolster their teams due to injuries (sorry Trey Lance), suspensions (thanks MIke Evans!) or just poor performance (where are you Hunter Henry). Here are a few suggestions, based on Yahoo trends

QB - Malik Willis, Chase Daniel

Neither of these are really great options for an add, but someone had to make the list. Malik Willis came in late in the game on Monday night after an abysmal performance from Ryan Tannehill. While Tannehill will look to bounce back in Week 3, Malik Willis could see action later in the season if things continue to fall. For Chase Daniel, he's on the list due to the rib injury to Justin Herbert. If Herbert can't go, Chase Daniel is next man up.

WR - Corey Davis, Noah Brown, Nelson Agholor

A trio of wide receivers who helped lead their team to victory in Week 2 are still sitting out on the waiver wire. Corey Davis had four targets in the come from behind win, including a 66 yard yard touchdown pass in the final minutes. With another week of Joe Flacco coming up, Davis could be another veteran connection for Joe. Noah Brown was 5 for 5 on targets for 91 yards and a touchdown in Week 2 and seems to be the locked in number 2 receiver for the Cooper Rush Cowboys. Nelson Agholor was also perfect with 6 for 6 targets and 110 yards with a touchdown in Week 2. He led the Patriots in yards in Week 2 as the offense started to look a little more efficient.

RB - Darrel Williams, Travis Homer, Jordan Mason

Darrel Williams found the end zone in Week 2 with 8 rushes for 59 yards. With James Conner battling an ankle injury, Williams could be worth a watch ahead of Week 3. Travis Homer led the Seahawks backfield with 49 snaps in Week 2 and also had four grabs for 33 yards. Jordan Mason could be an instant game changer in Week 3 with the San Francisco running corps decimated by injuries. Mason will be the likely RB2 behind Jeff Wilson Jr.

TE - Logan Thomas, Tyler Conklin

Logan Thomas was 3 for 5 catches for 37 yards and touchdown in the Week 2 loss to the Detroit Lions. Thomas has outperformed his projected point total in both weeks so far and will look to do it again in Week 3. Tyler Conklin was 6-9 targets for 40 yrads in Week 2. With Uzomah on the bench, Conklin has become one of Flacco's safety blankets ahead of the Week 3 matchup against the Bengals.

Enjoy Week 3!
