Leknid Lunatics (1-3) vs Captain Morgan (0-4)
On paper, this doesn't look to be a very compelling matchup. These two teams have combined for only one win on the season so far and have a firm grasp on the bottom of the rankings. Leknid Lunatics had a Week 3 victory but fell back in to the loss column in Week 4. They can make the claim that they're dealing with a weak quarterback room, losing Mac Jones to injury and Joe Flacco back to the bench. But Leknid Lunatics also has seen some down weeks from George Kittle, Joe Mixon, and James Conner. As some players start to return to form, they'll need to play better to keep Captain Morgan winless on the season. Captain Morgan is dealing with a depleted quarterback room of their own, losing Trey Lance to injury early on and relying on a host of backups to fill in on occasion. Captain Morgan also has seen injuries to Amon-Ra St. Brown and Michael Pittman at different times in the season. If this team can get healthy, they could start making some noise. But for now, this Week 5 matchup will come down to which team wants to try and claw their way out of the basement.
Fowler's Heathens (2-2) vs Houston Dinkel (3-1)
Both of these teams are coming off big Week 4 wins. Fowler's Heathens had the biggest margin of victory in Week 4, even despite leaving an inured D.J. Chark in the starting lineup. Speaking on injury concerns, this team could be without Jonathan Taylor this week, and could also be missing Chark once more. It's been a rocky road for Fowler's Heathens, who has alternated losses and wins each week. If the pattern holds, Fowler's Heathens may be looking at another loss, and that's how it's predicted to go against Houston Dinkel. Houston Dinkel is on a tear, winning their past three games. And to make it even more impressive, they're doing it with backup quarterbacks like Jacoby Brissett and Cooper Rush. Houston Dinkel had the tightest win of Week 4 over an undefeated team and will look to keep that ball rolling against Fowler's Heathens in Week 5.
All 2 Whales (2-2) vs Car Ramrod (2-2)
This matchup looks to be a great one in Week 5. Two teams sitting at .500 are both looking to battle for that third win and make some noise in the standings. All 2 Whales started off the season strong, grabbing that top spot ranking right away. From there they went on a small skid, losing two weeks in a row. But All 2 Whales won in Week 4 and looks to get back on track, relying on Tom Brady and Stefon Diggs to lead the team. Their opponent, Car Ramrod, is following on the same trajectory, losing in the second and third week despite wins in the opener and last week. Car Ramrod will be hoping for some big games from Davante Adams and Christian McCaffrey as they return to their former glory. Car Ramrod is looking to roll on in the standings and move in to the top half of the league. Can they get it done, or will All 2 Whales sink them?
STL House Centipedes (1-3) vs The Dictatorship (3-1)
Both of these teams suffered a Week 4 loss and are looking to get back on track this week. STL House Centipedes had a strong showing in Week 1 but has been on three game losing streak ever since. STL House Centipedes have some players; Travis Kelce and Amari Cooper have had some strong showings early in the season and are looking to be game changers. But STL House Centipedes needs their quarterbacks to start leading this team to gain some positive momentum. Especially against a team like The Dictatorship, who just had their first loss of the season, and a very narrow loss at that. The Dictatorship has looked like one of the strongest teams in the league this season, relying on Justin Jefferson and the surprising Geno Smith to carry the flag for this team. STL House Centipedes can get back on track with a win, but The Dictatorship will look to right the ship and move on.
Team Pup-N-Suds (3-1) vs Ginger Lightning (3-1)
This Week 5 matchup sees two 3-1 teams facing off in what could end up being a preview of the playoffs. Team Pup-N-Suds is on a two game winning streak and is coming off a strong Week 4 outing. The quarterback group of Joe Burrow and Patrick Mahomes seems to finally be on the same page. Team Pup-N-Suds will turn to these two quarterbacks, plus a strong running back corps to run over this week's opponent, Ginger Lightning. Ginger Lightning bounced back in Week 4 after taking their first loss in Week 3 and will look to start a little winning streak now. Despite the loss of Tua for the foreseeable future, this team still has a couple of surprising quarterbacks in Carson Wentz and Kirk Cousins to lead the charge. Team Pup-N-Suds is currently favored, but Ginger Lightning has the edge in the rankings. Who's going to come out ahead?
Autodraft Bitches (1-3) vs Dinkel 3.16 (3-1)
Both of these teams are coming off a loss, but couldn't be on further trajectories in this short season. Autodraft Bitches grabbed their first and only win in Week 3, but couldn't spin up any momentum in Week 4. Despite one of the best players in the league in Lamar Jackson, the rest of the depth on this squad just doesn't look like it's quite ready to inspire. Autodraft Bitches has some talent in Dalvin Cook and rookie Drake London, but needs Jameis Winston back and healthy to help lead this team. Meanwhile, Dinkel 3.16 suffered their first loss last week but still remains in first place in the league. It' s not a surprise with Josh Allen and Ryan Tannehill shoring up the quarterback position. The draft of Kenny Pickett could also pay off for Dinkel 3.16, as he gets the nod in Pittsburgh moving forward. Dinkel 3.16 has some horses and will look to run over Autodraft Bitches, but the underdog may get to play spoiler this week.
Fueled By Ayahuasca (2-2) vs SMILF (2-2)
This Week 5 matchup was one that some may have had circled on their calendars when the schedule came out. It's a rematch from last year's championship game. Fueled By Ayahuasca got the better of SMILF that time, but both teams have had slower starts this season and are now battling it out in the middle of the pack. Fueled By Ayahuasca has been in a loss then win pattern the past four weeks to bring them to 2-2. Justin Herbert has held fairly steady at quarterback, but Marcus Mariota has not been the second quarterback that this team hoped for. Fueled By Ayahuasca will hope that recent acquisition Zach Wilson will help to shore up the position. For SMILF, there may be some revenge in mind going in to this matchup, plus the hope to move up to a better spot in the rankings. They certainly have the quarterbacks to do it, with Jalen Hurts and Jared Goff playing great across the past four weeks. SMILF has a well balanced team that can compete, and they'll look to roll through this week with a strong effort. It's projected to be a close battle between the two teams. Can SMILF get back their win, or does Fueled By Ayahuasca have their number?
Good luck to all in Week 5!
