Week 7 Recap

100% That Commish

Updated: Oct 26, 2022

Week 7 is in the books, and with it, we're now halfway through the season. Some teams have established themselves as the cream of the crop, while others seem destined for a year of disappointment. And then there's a mess of teams sitting at 4-3 and jockeying for position as the post season starts to peak over the horizon. Let's see who did enough to get the W this week.

The Dictatorship secured a 62.96 point victory to hand Autodraft Bitches their fourth consecutive loss. The Dictatorship jumped out to a 27.96-point lead early Sunday afternoon behind a combined 36.46 points from Aaron Rodgers (19.76) and Antonio Gibson (16.7) and never looked back. Lamar Jackson (10.7 points) and Cade Otton (10.4 points) did their part for Autodraft Bitches in the loss. The Dictatorship (4-3) will look to add to their success against SMILF, while Autodraft Bitches (1-6) will meet All 2 Whales in an effort to generate some positive momentum.

Fueled By Ayahuasca rolled to a 58.44 point victory to hand All 2 Whales their third consecutive loss. Fueled By Ayahuasca pulled out to a 1.00-point lead on Thursday behind DeAndre Hopkins (25.3 points) and never let it go. Josh Jacobs (41.5 points) and Eno Benjamin (24.3 points) carried the flag for All 2 Whales in defeat. Fueled By Ayahuasca (4-3) will look to sustain their momentum against Houston Dinkel, while All 2 Whales (2-5) will take on Autodraft Bitches in an effort to get back on track.

There's no way around it, Captain Morgan underperformed, at least according to projections, as Houston Dinkel cruised to a 42.54 point victory. Captain Morgan jumped out to a 30.28-point lead on Thursday behind a combined 30.28 points from Kyler Murray (19.16 points) and Taysom Hill (11.12 points). But it was all Houston Dinkel after that. They were led by Jimmy Garoppolo (26.32 points) and Nick Chubb (18.7). Houston Dinkel (5-2) will look to keep it rolling against Fueled By Ayahuasca, while Captain Morgan (1-6) face STL House Centipedes in an effort to get back on track.

Team Pup-N-Suds ascended into first place in Shock And Awe with a dominant win over STL House Centipedes, rolling to a 32.5 point victory. STL House Centipedes pulled out to a 17.50-point lead on Thursday, but it was all Team Pup-N-Suds after that. They were led by Joe Burrow (58.24 points) and Patrick Mahomes (44.92 points). JuJu Smith-Schuster (34.4 points) and Justin Fields (26.36 points) carried the flag for STL House Centipedes in the loss. Team Pup-N-Suds (6-1) have now won five matchups in a row and will look to add to their success against Leknid Lunatics. STL House Centipedes (3-4) will face off against Captain Morgan in an effort to generate some positive momentum.

Car Ramrod rolled to a 21.32 point victory over Dinkel 3.16, knocking them out of first place in Shock And Awe. Car Ramrod got out to a 4.10-point lead on Thursday behind Rondale Moore and never gave it up. Travis Etienne Jr. (24.9 points) and Kenny Pickett (15.28) led the way for Dinkel 3.16 in the loss. Car Ramrod (4-3) will look to maintain their winning ways against Fowler's Heathens, while Dinkel 3.16 (5-2) face Ginger Lightning in an effort to get back on track.

Fowler's Heathens brought their A game, securing a 14.58 point victory over Ginger Lightning, who fell short of projections. Fowler's Heathens nabbed a 29.44-point lead on Thursday behind 35.54 points from Andy Dalton. Austin Ekeler (36.7 points) and Tua Tagovailoa (17.94 points) did everything they could for Ginger Lightning in the loss. Fowler's Heathens (4-3) will look to build on their success against Car Ramrod, while Ginger Lightning (4-3) try to develop some positive momentum against Dinkel 3.16.

Leknid Lunatics failed to bring their A game, falling short of their projected point total, as SMILF came back to earn a 11.6 point victory. Trailing 95.90-91.72 heading into Monday night, SMILF charged back behind Khalil Herbert (15.7 points) and Damien Harris (2). Derrick Henry (21.8 points) and George Kittle (21.8 points) did everything they could for Leknid Lunatics in the loss. SMILF (4-3) will look to sustain their momentum against The Dictatorship, while Leknid Lunatics (2-5) take on Team Pup-N-Suds in an effort to right the ship.

Studs & Duds

Stud - QB Joe Burrow with 58.24 points for Team Pup-N-Suds

Dud - WR Skyy Moore with -2 points for SMILF

Weekly Challenge - SMILF

This week's challenge was the Hands Team and went to the team with the best wide receiver duo (regardless of starting position). That team was SMILF, who saw Ja'Marr Chase (42 points) and Chris Olave (23.6 points) combine for 65.6 points. Next week is the Earl Megget and goes to the team with the best running back, regardless of roster position (running back or flex spot). If that had been the challenge this week, All 2 Whales would have won with 41.5 points from Josh Jacobs.

As a note, this is the first time this season that someone has won a second weekly challenge, and it comes in back to back weeks.

Waiver Wire Adds

Between byes and injuries, there is a need for help on most teams. You may find some here.

QB - Sam Ehlinger

Sam Ehlinger was named the starter in Indianapolis moving forward, replacing Matt Ryan. In a league where quarterback depth is scarce, any starting quarterback is helpful and Ehlinger could be worth an add this week.

WR - Parris Campbell, Van Jefferson, Marquise Goodwin

Parris Campbell is coming off his best game of the season and was a focal point for the Colts offense. With a change in quarterback, Campbell may see less targets, but he is a target for shallow routes that a rookie quarterback needs as a safety valve. Van Jefferson is set to return from IR and the Rams will take all the offensive help they can get right now. Marquise Goodwin came up big in Week 7 with injuries to DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett and could look to expand on that role if Metcalf misses time.

RB - Gus Edwards, Chiba Hubbard, Ty Johnson

Gus Edwards returned from injury on Week 7 and immediately made an impact for the Ravens, leading the backfield with 16 touches for 66 yards and two touchdowns. With J.K. Dobbins out for an extended time, Edwards should continue to lead this running back room. Chuba Hubbard split carries with D'Onta Foreman in the Week 7 win but was still an effective runner with nine rushing attempts for 63 yards and a touchdown. Ty Johnson will look at an increased workload for the Jets as the RB2 until James Robinson can get up to speed.

TE - Greg Dulcich, Harrison Bryant

Greg Dulcich saw his targets increase in Week 7, and while he didn't find the end zone, he did go 6-9 for 51 yards. With tight end scoring so abysmal this season, anything Dulcich does is considered a positive. Harrison Bryant didn't do much in Week 7, but with Njoku dealing with an ankle injury and the TE3 in Cleveland also out, Bryant is the last man standing and could be worth a stream in Week 8 against the Bengals.

Week 8 brings us the third bye week of the season. Only two teams on bye this week but they're some big ones.

Back to London this week for the annual Jaguars home game in Wembley. Plan accordingly and set your alarms!

Enjoy Week 8!
