Week 9 Recap

100% That Commish

Week 9 is in the books and we saw quite a few shakeups. The battle for the basement ended with a new last place team. Three of the top four teams got another win, and one team grabbed their fourth win in a row and moved into the Top 6. Let's take a look back at a wild week.

Fowler's Heathens extended their win streak to four games with an easy win over SMILF, cruising to a 72.5 point victory. Fowler's Heathens got out to a 20.3-point lead on Thursday behind Dallas Goedert (29 points) and Miles Sanders (15.3) and never let it go. Jalen Hurts (24.02 points) and Jared Goff (16.38 points) were the leading performers for SMILF in defeat. Fowler's Heathens (6-3) will look to keep it rolling against Dinkel 3.16, while SMILF (5-4) match up against Team Pup-N-Suds in an effort to develop some positive momentum.

Ginger Lightning showed up, rolling to a 56.62 point victory over All 2 Whales, who fell short of projections. All 2 Whales got out to a 7.90-point lead on Thursday, but it was all Ginger Lightning after that. They were led by Tua Tagovailoa (35.08 points) and Austin Ekeler (24.1 points). Derek Carr (22.36 points) and Christian Kirk (21.6 points) were the leaders for All 2 Whales in the loss. Ginger Lightning (6-3) will look to maintain their winning ways against Captain Morgan, while All 2 Whales (3-6) attempt to get back in the win column against The Dictatorship.

STL House Centipedes rose to the occasion, rolling to a 44.56 point victory over Fueled By Ayahuasca, who fell short of projections. STL House Centipedes leapt out to a 44.96-point lead early Sunday afternoon behind outstanding showings from Justin Fields and Trevor Lawrence. Fields scored 57.72 points, while Lawrence added another18.7 points. Fueled By Ayahuasca came back to take the lead late afternoon Sunday, powered by Kenneth Walker III (32.9 points) and DeAndre Hopkins (13.6). Unphased, STL House Centipedes rallied later that night, as Travis Kelce (25.6 points) and JuJu Smith-Schuster (18.8) put them back in the lead for good. STL House Centipedes (5-4) will look to add to their success against Leknid Lunatics, while Fueled By Ayahuasca (5-4) meet Autodraft Bitches in an effort to get back on track.

While they ranked only 12th in the league in points scored for the week, Autodraft Bitches emerged victorious with a 33.64 point victory over Captain Morgan. Autodraft Bitches jumped out to a 38.24-point lead early Sunday afternoon behind a combined 37.2 points from Joshua Palmer (23.6 points) and Dalvin Cook (13.6 points) and never looked back. Kyler Murray (23 points) and Amon-Ra St. Brown (9.5) led the way for Captain Morgan in the loss. Autodraft Bitches (2-7) will look to build on their success against Fueled By Ayahuasca, while Captain Morgan (1-8) will face Ginger Lightning in an effort to get some positive momentum.

The Dictatorship were unable to meet their projected point total, as Dinkel 3.16 rolled to a 27.46 point victory. This one was over almost as soon as it started, as Dinkel 3.16 took a 33.86-point lead early Sunday afternoon behind 63.9 points from Tyreek Hill (32.3 points) and Travis Etienne Jr. (31.6 points). Justin Jefferson (31.5 points) and Geno Smith (20.8) did their part for The Dictatorship in defeat. Dinkel 3.16 (6-3) will look to keep it rolling against Fowler's Heathens, while The Dictatorship (4-5) will try to right the ship against All 2 Whales.

Car Ramrod stepped up and beat their projected point total, but it wasn't enough to change the result as Team Pup-N-Suds rolled to a 25.58 point win. Team Pup-N-Suds earned a 25.24-point lead early Sunday afternoon behind the New England Patriots defense (26 points) and Joe Burrow (21.14) and never looked back. Davante Adams (41.6 points) and Juwan Johnson (16.2) were the leaders for Car Ramrod in defeat. Team Pup-N-Suds (7-2) will look to build on their success against SMILF, while Car Ramrod (4-5) will try to get back in the win column against Houston Dinkel.

Well, that was exhilarating! After a back-and-forth matchup featuring four lead changes, Houston Dinkel earned a come-from-behind win over Leknid Lunatics, staging an impressive comeback to earn a 1.76 point victory. Despite trailing 155.10-131.96 heading into Monday night, Houston Dinkel roared back behind Kenyan Drake, who racked up 24.9 points. Joe Mixon (60.1 points) and Derrick Henry (29.5) carried the flag for Leknid Lunatics in the loss. Houston Dinkel (6-3) will look to sustain their winning ways against Car Ramrod, while Leknid Lunatics (3-6) will try to get back in the win column against STL House Centipedes.

Studs & Duds

Stud - RB Joe Mixon with 60.10 points for Leknid Lunatics

Dud - QB P.J. Walker with -1.04 points for Captain Morgan

Weekly Challenge - Leknid Lunatics

This week's challenge was the He's Got Legs and went to the team with the best running back duo (regardless of starting position). That team was Leknid Lunatics, who benefited from a combined 89.6 points from Joe Mixon (60.10 points) and Derrick Henry (29.50 points). Next week is The Valedictorian and goes to the team with the best tight end, regardless of roster position (tight end or flex spot). If that had been the challenge this week, Fowler's Heathens would have won with 29 points from Dallas Goedert.

This is Leknid Lunatic's second weekly challenge win of the season.

Waiver Wire Adds

We're past Byemageddon but there may still be a need for some help for some people. Here are a few suggestions

QB - Baker Mayfield, Matt Ryan

Baker Mayfield made his not so triumphant return to the field this week in relief of P.J. Walker. Walker is the starter in Carolina but if Thursday's game goes poorly for him, this situation could be something to monitor. In Indy, Sam Ehlinger is clearly not the answer, and with the firing of Frank Reich this week, Matt Ryan may see a return to the starting position.

WR - Phillip Dorsett, Demarcus Robinson, Terrance Marshall

Phillip Dorsett was the starting WR1 in Week 9 for a banged up Texans team. Dorsett was 3 for 5 with 69 yards and would have had a touchdown if not for an underthrown pass, so as long as Cooks is away from the team, Dorsett may see the field. Demarcus Robinson should see his role in the Ravens offense increase with Rashod Bateman's season cut short. Terrace Marshall was 3 for 6 for 53 yards and touchdown in Week 9 and has a combined 7 for 15 with 140 yards across the last two games.

RB - Tyler Allgeier, Travis Homer, Raheem Blackshear

Even with the return of Cordarelle Patterson, Tyler Allgeier still found relevancy in this run heavy offense in Atlanta. Rushing 10 times for 99 yards, Allgeier also added a 24 yard reception to keep himself in the conversation for the Falcons. Travis Homer only had one rushing attempt in Week 9, but was efficient as a pass catcher on 3-3 targets for 25 yards and has caught all 8 of his targets this season. Raheem Blackshear had a rushing touchdown and was 4-4 with 40 receiving yards in Week 9 and could be the number two back in Carolina if Chuba Hubbard remains sidelined.

TE - Cade Otton, Hunter Henry

Cade Otton was 5-6 in Week 9 and recorded 68 yards and a touchdown. A favorite safety valve for Brady in the come from behind win, Otton has gained the trust of the quarterback and should see increased usage going forward. Hunter Henry was 4-4 with 50 receiving yards in Week 9 and with the Patriots prioritizing the tight end position on Sunday, Henry did record a 30 yard reception in the fourth quarter.

Week 10 gets us back down to a normal 4 team bye week. These are the teams on bye this week. Plan accordingly!

We're back to Europe this week as the Buccaneers and the Seahawks head to Germany. It's another early morning kickoff, so set your alarms to double check your lineups before kickoff!

Enjoy Week 9!
